3. What are the constitutional and unofficial requirements for serving in the Texas
Legislature? How long are legislative terms of office? Are there term limits? What are the
advantages of an incumbent legislator? Who presides over the Texas Senate and Texas
House of Representatives?
4. How does the state constitution limit the Texas governor as a chief executive? What is
the plural executive system and how does it limit the governor? Name one state executive
position that is both elective and mentioned in the Texas Constitution. Name one state
executive position that is appointed by the governor. Why is Texas called a “board and
commission state?”

Use of Sources (worth a maximum of 20% of the total points). Zero points:  Student failed to include citations and/or references. Or the student failed to submit a final paper. 5 out 20 points:  Sources are seldom cited to support statements and/or format of citations are not recognizable as APA 6th Edition format.
