Discrimination and affirmative action in employment especially in the United States is an issue that is currently being taken very seriously by various stake holders in the economy. In the New York University there are various steps that have been taken to ensure that there is no discrimination either based on gender or financial inclination nationality or accent.
In the recent past there has been an increase in the levels cyber bulling. Employers should ensure there is no cyber bulling and that all employees are treated fairly (Van Laer, 2011). The best way for employers to improve is to ensure that all people are treated in the best way possible and that different people in the society are given different posts to head. Organizing team events usually goes a long way in ensuring that there is mutual cultural and social integration in the society.
Employee suctions to those who have discrimination will go a long way in ensuring people fear the consequences of discrimination. A proper and easy channel of reporting helps to address the issues in time and hence avoid the delay in justice. The root of discrimination is solely based on perception and hence employers and other stake holders should invest in educating its employees that all people are equal and that there is no one who is superior than the other since we are all human beings. Back in the 20th century discrimination was intense and hence it (Van Laer, 2011) has been challenging over the decades to change the perception of human beings on the same.
Sexual assault has been an intruding effect of discrimination in the recent past. Needless to say, it causes far reaching consequences on the brain and brings trauma which can be permanent hence employers should be vigilant and violently fight the vice. However discrimination should be fought carefully since it’s a very sensitive issue.
