Sunspots are the intriguing, temporary, and somewhat perplexing black spots on the Sun’s photosphere (“surface”). They appear to be created by the Sun’s magnetic fields and are cooler than the surrounding photosphere. They occur in a cycle, which we will investigate in this lab.
