According to the chapter 12, the protection of endangered species is a popular and essential part of efforts to sustain the earth’s natural diversity

In the United States, we have numerous Environmental Laws and Executive Orders to protect the environment. The following laws and Executive Orders support to protect human health and the environment.

Despite all the environmental regulations, this week’s question is, “are we winning the battle of protecting the environment”, particularly protecting the endangered species?

I have uploaded several great multimedia videos for both sides (destroyers and protectors).

Provide in-depth discussions about our environmental laws and challenges and reflection to the videos. Watch all videos and take a closer look into chapters 12 and 13 and post your constructive thoughts and discuss people’s roles in conservation. This discussion is worth of 15 Points

This is My Take:

I watched and studied extreme wild videos. I can take any hard stuffs.

But, I wanted to hear from you for the one particular video on two men repeatedly shot and executing a young elephant (Slay Young Elephant).

I watch this video a few minutes and I stopped it immediately.

I went away for a while.

I never felt such a dark academic moment, heartfelt, and sad feeling about the young elephant’s freedom to live on its homeland (wilderness) due to these ignorant, barbarian, arrogant, and uncivilized culture of people who took this giant down at his homeland.

The young elephant did not encroach their land; instead, these men encroached and violated the wilderness, which is the elephant’s home, and took him down by several bullets. Now they command, “we got him” and “we the men.”

I grew up with elephants all over in my city environment in the former country, Sri Lanka. Elephants are people’s everyday endurance among Sri Lankan.

Many Sri Lankans have elephants as pets, keeping them for heavy-duty working, participating in annual parades in religious ceremonies, etc. Sri Lanka had close to 14,000 elephants before the British colonized the country.

When Sri Lanka got independence in 1947, we left with 2500-4000 elephants (WWF).

What happened to the rest? Well, the honorable, respectful, and civilized colonial masters hunted them for sports and took all ivories to the UK.

I have no civilized words to explain the barbarism and brutality that humans have adopted on mother nature. Because of these barbarians, today, we are studying the conservation of biology and endangered species.
