The following is the mark distribution:
Employee Satisfaction (Part A) (50 marks)
In this section of the assignment, you will create an employee satisfaction survey to evaluate the benefits package provided by your company or a company you are familiar with. In order to complete this work, you will need to follow a three-step procedure.
Step 1: Do some research.
Two frequently used and verified instruments for gauging employee satisfaction are the Job Descriptive Index (JDI) and the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ).
Investigate these and other techniques and measurements that can be used to assess employee satisfaction with their occupations and the benefits they gain by going online.
Create an employee satisfaction questionnaire using the information you’ve gathered to see how satisfied your employees are with their positions and the benefits they receive as part of their salary. There should be no more than 12 questions on the form.
You might want to talk about new and inventive rewards or benefits systems that are gaining traction in the changing workforce, such as on-site daycare or eldercare as part of a benefits package.
To make your results easier to understand, utilize a rating scale or a similar method. A “Likert scale,” for example, is a widely used approach. Visit http://www.socialresearchmethods.net/kb/scallik.php for further information.
Remember that your textbook’s companion website, http://www.pearsoned.ca/highered/myhrlab/index.html, has important web links for each chapter.
Step 2: Take a moment to think about what you’ve done thus far.
Consider your current or previous place of employment, and consider your experiences there (Please choose Starbucks Company). What kind of perks did you get as part of your pay package? Consider an alternate location, such as a place where you have volunteered or been involved in an employee-like capacity, if you do not have a current or previous employment that is suitable for this section of the project.
Choose a workplace and describe it in no more than 150 words, if you want to keep your employer’s name private.
Answer the questions using the context of the work setting you choose in the questionnaire you created in Step 1 of this assignment.
Step 3: Evaluate the benefits packages offered by the firm and provide recommendations.
Write a review of how effectively you think your company’s rewards and perks packages kept employees happy, as well as any recommendations you might have.
