Determine the curriculum’s immediate problems.

Consider the following:

Scores on tests.

The present curriculum’s age.

Technology must be implemented.

Social factors are at work.

State or national standards are being revised.

Determine who will be a part of your curriculum team.

How will you make sure your staff is diverse?

Explain the importance of key positions and who you plan to fill them.

Describe how you’ll carry out a needs analysis. Not only test results but a variety of resources and methodologies should be used.

Examine at least three current trends in your grade or topic areas, such as technology integration in the classroom and current approach.

These concerns can be addressed through concepts such as the flipped classroom.
